Companion animals are animals that are an inclusive part of your family...not a "mouser", not a "watch dog", not chained outside, etc.  When the Humane Society of Catawba County refers to "companion animals", we are saying that the dog or cat should be a very included part of your home/family, spending most time inside, with you, the adopter/parent.

NOTE:

DOGS adopted must leave the shelter wearing training collars and a leash.  (You may purchase a leash/collar from HSCC for a small fee.)

CATS adopted must leave the shelter in a carrier.  (You may  purchase a cardboard carrier from HSCC for a small fee.)

If you have any questions, please email us or call us:
(828) 464-8878.

*Items included with the adoption are subject to change without notice.

Vet exam certificates expire 15 days from adoption date.  Training certificates expire 30 days from adoption date.
