Adopting a Pet

HSCC uses variable adoption pricing for its shelter animals.

Our adoption fees offset the cost of evaluation, housing and medical care for the homeless animals that need our help.

Some of the animals in our shelter are considered highly adoptable. These higher in demand animals quickly find a loving home. Their increased adoption fee leaves a financial legacy for the other animals in our care who may need extra medical attention or more time to find a loving home.

  • $150 for adult dogs
  • $30 for adult cats
  • $75 for kittens
  • $75 for long term resident adult dogs
  • $10 for long term resident adult cats

All adoptions are based on approved applications.
Adoption applications are available at the shelter, or you can find on here.

DOGS adopted must leave the shelter wearing training collars and a leash. (You may purchase a leash/collar from HSCC for a small fee.)

CATS adopted must leave the shelter in a carrier.  (You may  purchase a cardboard carrier from HSCC for a small fee.)
