Finance/Administrative Manager


The Humane Society of Catawba County is seeking a highly organized professional to lead our day-to-day financial operations. This is a hands-on, independent role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and ensuring complete fiscal transparency.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to use your financial and administrative expertise to directly support the care of homeless animals in our community.


Specific Job Duties

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including accurate expense coding, invoicing, deposits, and timely vendor payments.
  • Reconciliations: Complete monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and shelter revenue streams, including donations, adoption fees, and clinic income.
  • Budgeting and Reporting: Maintain the organization's internal budget and prepare clear, accurate financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • CPA Collaboration: Manage the year-end financial process for the organization's external CPA, including preparation for the annual audit and IRS Form 990.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist with financial data requests, special reports, and analysis to support informed decision-making and responsible shelter spending.
  • Records Management: Maintain accurate and well-organized digital and physical financial records.
  • Executive Support: Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and assist with business operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Strong budgeting and financial analysis skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Proven ability to manage responsibilities independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position working Monday through Friday. The annual salary range is $45,000 to $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
