Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat from the Humane Society of Catawba County. Every cat in our care is looking for a loving, permanent home, and this application is the first step in helping us find the right match. Before you begin, feel free to browse the cats currently available for adoption.

Please answer each question honestly and completely — the more we know about your home and lifestyle, the better we can match you with a cat who fits. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. A member of our team will review your information and reach out to talk through the next steps. Every cat goes home spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Thanks so much for choosing adoption! Cats bring years of companionship, joy, and unconditional love, but they also require a lifelong commitment of time, patience, care, and financial responsibility. Before adopting, please ensure that you are prepared to provide a safe and loving home for the next 10 to 15 years or more.

Adoption fees are payable to the Humane Society of Catawba County by cash, debit card, or credit card. Personal checks are not accepted for adoptions.

The annual cost of caring for a cat typically ranges from $500 to $1,500 for basic needs, including food, litter, routine veterinary care, and annual vaccinations. Prospective adopters should also be prepared for unexpected expenses. If a cat becomes ill or is injured, veterinary treatment can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on the condition and level of care required.

HSCC makes every reasonable effort to evaluate the health and behavior of animals in its care. However, HSCC cannot guarantee the future health, temperament, behavior, or suitability of any animal. Certain medical, behavioral, hereditary, or genetic conditions may not be apparent at the time of adoption and may not be detected by HSCC or its veterinarians prior to placement.
