Pet Food Pantry Application

HSCC’s Pet Food Pantry is designed to support pet owners facing financial hardship by providing temporary pet food assistance. One in four pet owners who surrender their pets cite financial difficulties as the reason. By offering supplemental food support, HSCC aims to keep pets in their homes and out of shelters.

Many individuals will prioritize feeding their pets over themselves, or may resort to feeding them table scraps which can lead to health issues. Our goal is to ensure pets remain healthy and with the families who love them.

Please note: We are unable to provide food for individuals feeding feral cat colonies.

The Pet Food Pantry provides supplemental, temporary pet food assistance so pets can stay in loving homes. Please tell us about your pets so we can help.

PET FOOD PANTRY AGREEMENT

By submitting this application, I certify that the information provided is true and complete. I understand that the Humane Society of Catawba County Pet Food Pantry provides supplemental, temporary pet food assistance so pets can stay in loving homes.

I understand that free pet food is available for up to 3 months from the time of my request. To continue using the Pantry beyond 3 months, all of my pets must be spayed or neutered and current on their rabies vaccinations. The Humane Society of Catawba County may be able to help with spay/neuter, vaccines, and testing on a case-by-case basis.

I understand that the Pantry cannot provide food for feral cat colonies, and that the Humane Society of Catawba County does not provide medical care beyond essential spay/neuter, vaccines, and tests.

I understand that a photo ID is required at my initial application and at each pickup. Pickups take place at the Humane Society of Catawba County shelter, 3224 20th Ave SE, Newton, NC 28658, during posted Pet Food Pantry hours; the shelter will confirm the current schedule when it contacts me about my request. The Humane Society of Catawba County reserves the right to remove clients from the program at its discretion.
